Ad Hoc Panel Weighs Possible Changes to CJA

A committee, appointed by Chief Justice John G. Roberts, has concluded its series of seven hearings which included over 100 hours of testimony from federal defenders, panel attorneys, judges, prosecutors, advocacy groups and academics. This is the first comprehensive look at the federal public defender system in 20 years.
