OUR OFFICE
 

    The Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Ohio was established in 1973, in accordance with the Criminal Justice Act of 1964;

[Title 18, United States Code, Section 3006A].  It provides legal, investigative, expert and other services in federal criminal cases and related matters to people in need of such assistance who are unable to retain private counsel.  The Northern District includes the Ohio counties shown on the adjacent map (click on map for an enlargement).  The office operates under the Criminal Justice Act Plan adopted by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.  The office staff includes trial lawyers, research lawyers, investigators, an administrative officer, a computer systems administrator and secretarial support.  Further description of the staff can be found in the directories section of this website.
